Oops thought I posted already...okies here we go... pay attention class ;D
Bu is the Mandarin word for 'no' and bie is used for 'don't'.
They're not really the same thing and bu is normally just used to say no to something...
eg.
Wo bu shi taiwan ren (I am not Taiwanese)
Wo bu yao (I don't want)
If you want to order someone not to do something then use 'bie'
eg.
Bie Ku (don't cry)
Bie chi (don't eat)
Bie he (don't drink)
chi = eat
he = drink
yao = to want/need to
shi = to be
Taiwan Ren = Taiwan person (ren = person)

Erm...i know this is mandarin thread here...but...in order to let Anna understand..so i need to use Cantonese...hehe...she know Cantonese...  Okay...you are still confused between bu and bie right?? in mandarin - wo bu yao in cantonese - ngo mm yiu in mandarin - bie ku in cantonese - mou ham you see.. Cantonese got two 'no' too... ;D you understand now??? Hehe... Gosh... Jo... you didnt drop by here too???  |

So in mandarin it's ni yao bu yao? Hen ke ai you should pronounce it as Hern Ke Ai...lols...it's hard to explain how to pronounce it... ==" if Jo happens to drop by here...please correct me, if i am wrong ;D Anna..no problem..will do that when you are not understand  |
